Michael Schulson and his wife Nina Tinari-Schulson are having a hell of a time changing the scenery across Philly’s dining –scape. Center City’s Harp & Crown is Downright Restaurant Eye Candy… Yet another knock-out from Michael Schulson & company
Michael Schulson has done it again with this huge, beautiful and partly-hidden restaurant on Sansom Street.
People featured Harp & Crown highlighting Drake dining at the restaurant along with NBA player Ben Simmons, rapper Meek Mills and Migos. A photograph of the restaurant’s interior is included, as well.
Distressed walls adorned with vintage pictures make this space almost feel like its been in Philadelphia, fully decorated, waiting for someone to just brush the dust off the green leather banquettes and figure out how to make the bowling alley work again. Almost.
Dramatic chandeliers, Chesterfield chairs, and a host of other vintage finds create warmth in a once-cavernous space.
It’s the kind of place where an important conversation should be filmed in one of the booths. Lit by chandeliers and adorned with old portraits, it carries the warm glow of history and the power of place that has endured through decades of change in Center City.
Harp & Crown’s 12,500 square foot space on Sansom is a mix of old world and new, with “garden” seating by the front entrance, a luxurious and large 32-seat bar space, 24 foot high ceilings, four antique chandeliers, and cozy booths lining the walls.
With 24-foot ceilings and a bowling alley in the basement, this shabby-chic Sansom Street hot spot from Michael Schulson nailed the reworked-warehouse aesthetic from the start.
